Jiao Shixie, very interesting post as we have now come to expect from Ginger River Review.

About the new facial recognition regulations, could the motivation be that the technology does not work well? I heard that there were too may false positives.

Hi, thank you for your question. I'm Jiao Shixie from GRR. Regarding your question, I think this regulation is more for the protection of personal privacy, because with the development of technology, face recognition will be more and more accurate, and collecting personal information will be easier. If it is not restricted, it might be a violation of personal privacy. And in my personal life, I haven't encountered any false recognition yet.

Thanks. I understand the concern for privacy. On the other hand, in Brisbane, the Google app on my phone knows all the places I have been to. One can turn it off but I do not think many people do. I don't. I suppose it is different from the government tracking your movements.
